Amish Chicken & Roast Beef Dinner:
The date is set for Saturday, September 15th at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Girard. Mary Mihalick needs a volunteer to drive the four Amish cooks to the K of C Hall, and then back home again. She also needs another van or pickup truck to haul foodstuffs from West Farmington. Anyone who can help should call Mary at 330-545-4124. The Girard Robotics Team volunteered to help serve tables and clean up. The GUARD committee approved giving them free dinners (at our cost) to show them our appreciation. Mary needs everyone’s ticket money by Saturday, September 8th so she can get an accurate head count for the Amish cooks.
Girard Parade:
Sam Pagano drove his van in the Girard “End of Summer” parade on August 18th. He hung a GUARD banner on each side of the van to advertise GUARD’s presence in the city. Hutz Signs of Youngstown made the banners.
